The town of Goodsprings was named after Joseph Good, who settled the area in the late 1800’s in hopes of getting wealthy off the area's mineral reserves.

SALOON BAR
The cherry wood bar in the main saloon was built by Brunswick in Maine in the late 1800’s and shipped to Nevada, eventually working its way to the Pioneer in Goodsprings, Nevada.
The Goodsprings General Store, which has had various names through the years, is most famous for the post-apocalyptic action role-playing video game, Fallout: New Vegas. The Saloon and General Store are prominently featured in the popular video game, as well as the 2281 Mojave Wasteland town of Goodsprings.
BULLET HOLES
Another famous Pioneer story involves a deadly game of cards in 1915. An out-of-work miner named Paul Coski, was shot dead by Joe Armstrong, the poker dealer who caught Paul cheating. The local newspaper headline and coroner’s report are displayed in the saloon on the original tin wall with 3 fully penetrating holes, which many believe are the original bullet holes from the shooting.
HAUNTINGS
Paul Coski is thought to be one of several ghosts that haunt Pioneer Saloon. Customers and particular, employees, many who have worked at the Pioneer for years, recount many ghostly occurrences at the property, including hearing a female voice crying in the women’s bathroom at night when no one is in there, the old timey telephone ringing when it’s not plugged in, tricks played by the g
CURRENT DAY
Goodsprings is now referred to as a ghost town even though it is still home to around 200 wonderful residents. The Pioneer Saloon is owned by an eccentric musician and businessman who calls himself Old Man Liver. Folklore has it that the saloon was won in a high stakes poker game after a particularly debaucherous night of gambling and drinking. Old Man Liver now heads up the Assholes
Films, TV shows and music videos continue to be shot on site as folks from around the world travel to visit the Pioneer to experience history, enjoy a cocktail at the bar, listen to live music on the weekends, and taste Pioneer’s now famous Ghost Burger and Haunt Dog.
